Rea Schuessler

Rea (pronounced “Ray”), a Mobile, AL native was recognized for his golf talent early on. In high school, he finished as a runner up in The National High School All American Golf Tournament in Tulsa, OK while representing the state of Alabama in the 1978 competition. Rea was fortunate to be mentored by long time CC of Mobile Head Professional Woody Woodall who helped countless young golfers and adults along the Gulf Coast improve their games under his keen eye.

He continued to play competitive golf all four years in college graduating in 1983 from the University of South Alabama with a degree in Health Education. After college, he turned pro and competed on various mini-tours including playing on The South African Tour. While competing professionally he spent time with Dr. Bob Rotella. Dr. Rotella is known worldwide as the pioneer of improving how to “think” and “score” better and has coached multiple major winners on all tours. Rea was fortunate to be instructed during this time by Jack Grout who taught Jack Nicklaus the game and well into his professional career until Mr. Grout passed away in 1989.

Rea has recently accepted the position of Director of Instruction at Country Club of Mobile, he and his wife Salena along with their pets reside in Daphne, AL as does the couple's daughter, Grace.
